American Covers Inc.
was founded in 1995 by Rick Fogarty as part of the initial initiative of the Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission (JEDCO)
. The company moved to a permanent facility in Harvey in 2002 and that location was expanded in 2006. After Hurricane Katrina, Rick and Terri Fogarty purchased a property in Mandeville
with the intention of eventually relocating the company to St. Tammany Parish
. The construction of their new facility was completed in 2014. In 2019, American Covers, Inc. expanded with a larger corporate headquarters and a state-of-the-art fabric manufacturing facility. As a result of reaching capacity, a third expansion is scheduled to begin construction in the fourth quarter of 2020. Once completed, American Covers, Inc. will have the ability to meet customer demands and future growth objectives.
